SUMMARY:Mathematical Models for the Microstructure of Ceramics (M3C)
DESCRIPTION:On May 18 and 19\, 2026\, the event Mathematical Models for the Microstructure of Ceramics takes place at the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France in Valenciennes. This Focused Innovation Session\, organized as part of the COST mSPACE action by Lucas Reding and Matthias Täufer\, brings together 12 participants overall\, including mathematicians\, materials specialists\, and ceramics researchers. It is devoted to mathematical models of ceramic microstructures\, including both dense and porous ceramics. Discussions focus in particular on homogenization\, sintering\, stochastic models based on Gaussian fields and random Voronoi tessellations\, as well as multiscale approaches and the numerical prediction of properties.More information: https://indico.math.cnrs.fr/event/16238/
