Walkshop on Mathematical Physics

The Walkshop on Mathematical Physics is a series of workshops bringing together working on mathematical physics, spectral theory and related topics. The name “walkshop” is due to the customary hike taking place at each walkshop. This year, enabled by the support of our Action, the Walkshop took place from Thursday, June 25 to Friday, June 26 at the Mathematical Institute of the Universität Kassel, Germany.

The event connected around five Action members, mainly from WG1, with around ten external participants. The meeting in a small group fostered an intensive scientific exchange, and it built bridges between different scientific communities laying the groundwork for future collaborations. The two-days event featured ten targeted research talks of both junior scientists and established and renowned mathematicians. These lectures covered various field in mathematical physics such as quantum mechanics, fluid mechanics and relativity. Particularly relevant for the scope of the Action were

  • Eigenvalue problems for Schrödiger operators on metric graphs (WG1);
  • Spectra of Dirac operators (WG1).

The name giving walk to the Bergpark in Kassel provided the opportunity for informal exchange and a scenic view over thhe city of Kassel.

The meeting was organized by Amru Hussein (Universität Kassel) together with Dominik Spyrka (Universität Kassel), Paul Beckermann (RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau) and Erik Heidrich (RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau).
